I found this amazing photograph while searching for inspirational fashion ads online this week and I immediately had so many design ideas come to my head. Below is the collage I made from the photograph:
I absolutely loved playing around with this collage because I took so many ideas from the above fashion ad and really thought about how I could use certain furniture to represent some of the objects in the photograph. One of the very first things that popped into my head was incorporating acrylic to resemble the glass box the model is posing inside of, so I decided to use a plain acrylic coffee table and what a steal this one is for $249.00 from cb2.com! The next thing that I really wanted to focus on was the scale of the furniture. I knew I wanted it all to be very large to represent the roller-coasters in the background, so I went with the famous Smoke Chairs and the Victoria bench from Maisons du Monde to add some visual height. I also wanted to focus on using industrial materials for the casegoods such as glass and metal to give the collage more of a natural outdoorsy feel. Overall, the simplicity of the monochromatic color scheme mixed with the heavy upholstery and industrial casegoods is a look that is funky and fresh for all ages! Here are a few other fashion ads that gave me some good design inspiration:
